Wensley's Cycles is one of the oldest operating bicycle stores in New Zealand. Kicking off the business in 1945 Wensleys has grown up with the community in the deep south servicing and providing cycles through generations of southland families. The shop policy has never changed and still operates with the goal to be "that friendly cycle store" that has both experience and rich knowledge of all cycles, old and new.

Wensley’s Cycles is now independently owned by Rob and Sandra McMurdo. Rob has been involved in Wensley’s for over 35 years, starting in 1981 and taking over the ownership in 2007. Rob is well-known and trusted within the Southland Community and also within the cycling fraternity.

Wensley’s Cycles not only has history from the past but vision for the future. The place, the people and the brands within the store all tell a story.

Not only do we demonstrate loyalty to our customers but this is returned to us by them. They believe in us, what we do, how we do it and who we are and this tells us that what we are doing, we are doing right. We take pride in the workmanship of repairs and we service all makes and models. These are undertaken by our on-site mechanics, with no job to big or too small. The synergy of Wensley’s Cycles and the brands of Giant and Specialized that we sell, each compliments the other. Our strengths are vast; spanning from that of a child’s runner or first pedal bike, or bikes for the Mum’s and Dad’s with a child’s seat attached if need be, road bikes, track bikes and mountain bikes.

We cater for the recreational riders, entry level competitive rider’s right through to and including NZ representatives and Olympic Champions – we offer the complete package. Our utmost priority is in providing excellent customer service, high quality products along with excellent product knowledge from our key staff and brand suppliers.
